Chocolate Indulge: Tallgrass Bakery

I don't think I've ever had a pound cake before and if so I have never had one that has tasted this good!! It has the perfect amount of chocolate and mint and then the chocolate layer on the outside-wow. Between the three of us and the two desserts we had we didn't finish this one so half of it is still in the freezer and I can't wait to have more.

Chocolate Indulge: Steve's Bistro

 I had never even heard of this place before this event and I'm glad they are serving mud pie because only that (my favorite dessert) could have gotten me to drive all the way out there to get some and when I saw the place I was impressed. It has really fun Europian decor and it makes me want to sit down relax and enjoy some great food (which it looks like they have).

(It was some seriously good mud pie!)

Chocolate Indulge: De Luca's Bakery

We were painting our living room and dinning room and I needed to go out and get a couple more things for that project so I stopped and got us this treat. Wow, it was so good!! I had been in the store a few times but the way it is set up you don't see everything at first, and I honestly didn't even know there was a bakery in there! I'm glad I know now because again, wow, so good!!

Chocolate Indulge: Joe Black Coffee Bar

 I went to Joe Black Coffee Bar two times and both times they were out of their Indulge dessert. The second time I even called ahead and they gave me a time (between 10-6) that the desserts would be delivered and I went after 6pm and still nothing.

I was frustrated and thought maybe I'll just skip this one on my list of places to go but I was in the area on another day and went by and they had it but not only did they have one but they had two different kinds.

And of course this is the peanut butter one (this one is way better!)

(Did you notice I didn't get any strawberries or whip cream? I didn't realize until afterward that I was supposed to get some. But to be honest it was perfect just like this!)

Better design & a button too!!

I wasn't totally happy with how my blog was looking. I didn't feel like it totally showed "Me" when you came onto it so I made a couple of changes AND I created myself a button. I had been getting a lot of requests for my button so I thought I better get on it and make one right? Here you go!! Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!

Save the Saddest Dolphins

My sister sent me this today and I wanted to share it with you. I'm huge of letting animals be and I think things like this are horrible. Yes,  I love to see dolphins, and swim with them, and I love dolphin shows but I don't love that we think have to catch them to get near them.

"The pod was swimming peacefully in Samoa when nets closed in from behind -- trapping 25 wild dolphins for a luxury resort's latest exhibit. They are now locked in tiny pens, starved of food -- but we can free them. "

Chocolate Indulge: Human Bean Coffee & Tea

Doesn't this look wonderful? Well it was! We weren't going to try this one but then we decided to go for a little trip to The Forks with my mom and we shared this one and the one from Tall Grass Prairie.


I really like Human Bean. I can't speak for their coffee (because I don't drink coffee) but they have great desserts and tea, and they have a tea sale at times buy one bag of 100g get the second half off so I love that.

If you are going to The Forks and want a little treat I suggest this place. It a little more off to the corner too so it's not so crowded and they have a little sitting area of their own as well.

Shirl's Birthday

It was coming up to my mother-in-laws birthday and of course that means party, and because of the time of the year that means bbq!

This is the Pina Colada Cheesecake I made. It turned out great!

My Second Blog Award!

- I have a balloon phobia. They're fine, I have no issue, as long as there's no threat of them popping, then I get skiddish

Chocolate Indulge: High Tea Bakery

I'll be honest, I'm pretty disappointed with this one. I had never been to High Tea Bakery before and I had heard really good things and had had a couple of cookies and tried wedding cakes from there, so I expected their choice for this event would be great..none. Out of the 8 that I have tried so far this was the most disappointing. It was not a lot of bang for your buck and I've made a lot better brownies myself, at home.

I like that most places give you the little Easter bunny though (from Morden's Chocolates) that made it a little better.

Free Day!!

Hi All!
I just wanted to write a little post about the up coming free day!

If you live in Winnipeg or around here you need to check it out! I do it both in spring and fall and always find all sorts of great stuff!! It's great because we're just "starting out" (new house) and it helps out a lot without having to buy all sorts of things.

The way it works is people, starting Saturday morning (May 14th) put stuff out on the curb that they no longer want and anyone came just come by and pick it up. It runs through till Sunday night but I find that most of the good stuff is Saturday morning into early afternoon.

I've gotten a lot of garden stuff, some clothes, lots of kitchen things (including a blender, salt stone lamb, ipod dock, bowls, plants, utensils and a set of hand blown ice cream bowls) and lots of books!

It's a good time! You should at least go for a walk around your area and see what people are putting out!

(The fall one is usually around September 10th or 11th FYI :)

Chocolate Indulge: Caramel Crepe & Fergie's Fish n' Chips

The crepe was pretty good. Nothing outstanding. The Grand Marnier sause was pretty intense, but it added a little something different to the crepe.

I can't say that I'll ever try the deep fried Mars Bar again but it was interesting. I think it just sort of weirded me out a bit because well, I don't care that much for Mars Bars on a good day and then it had that salty deep fried taste..It went well with a bit of it and a bit of the crepe.

The three of us shared the 2 desserts.
