Baking My Way: Bourbon Brownies

Wow is this one good!!

I cut the recipe in half and use Disaronno instead of bourbon (simply because I didn't have any) and wow was it amazing! It's a serious dessert with some wonderful tastes! I will for sure be making this one again! I think it would be great for a dinner party where you want something easy to make but with a more adult flavor.

Ingredients
BROWNIES
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup margarine or butter
2 tablespoons water
1 (6-oz.) pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 cup All Purpose or Unbleached Flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
3 to 4 tablespoons bourbon

FROSTING
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 to 3 teaspoons milk
1 oz. (1 square) semi-sweet chocolate, melted, cooled


Directions
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 8 or 9-inch square pan. In medium saucepan,combine sugar, 1/3 cup margarine and water. Cook over medium heat untilmixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir inchocolate chips and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add eggs; beat well. Lightly spoonflour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mixwell. Stir in walnuts. Spread evenly in greased pan.

Bake at 350°F. for 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centercomes out clean. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Drizzle bourbon evenly over top. Coolcompletely.

In small bowl, combine powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons margarine, 1/4 teaspoon
vanilla and enough milk for desired frosting consistency; beat until smooth.
Frost cooled brownies; drizzle melted chocolate over frosting. Let stand
until set; cut into bars.
